Story
My cousin Craig is 51 and has battled bladder cancer for over two years, recently he received the devastating news its spread to the bones in his hips and pelvis so chemotherapy is his only respite.
Despite this, Craig continues to show his determination to make the best of the time he has, retaining his sense of humour throughout and being a rock to his family, whose anguish at this news we can only imagine. He refuses to give in to the effects of this despicable illness which has already devastated his family, having robbed him of his Dad and now affecting his Mum too.
Craig’s biggest wish is to provide some happy and cherished memories for his family and create a legacy for them to enjoy, that will remind them of him in years to come. One way in which we can help is by raising the funds needed to enable him and wife Maz to pay to move the Caravan he has lovingly restored from his drive where he currently has to store it, on to a holiday site where he can go with Maz, their young children; Keiran and India and his two grown up daughters; Billie-Jo and Danielle not to mention the grandchildren, of which there are many!
Craig is unable to continue working as a nurse, Maz continues to work as a nurse/carer but finances are tight so they simply cannot afford to pay the £1,600 fee needed for the caravan holiday site. If everyone spares what they can afford we will hopefully be able to raise the funds needed for them to enjoy happy times together to create special everlasting memories.
I've signed-up to run the following races so please sponsor me as every penny raised will be given to Craig and his family.

Cancer destroys lives, we should never take our mortality for granted as none of us know what the future holds.

6 years agoHi Everyone, Leeds 10K completed on Sunday 08/07/18 in 1 hour 10 minutes and 46 seconds. I was aiming for a sub hour but it was a very hot day which made it hard work. I hadn't been able to run for a couple of weeks leading up to the 10K as I'd strained my right calf on a training run so I'm pleased to have completed it pain free and no pain since so hopefully its healed. I'm delighted we have raised £1,923 which is 96% of the £2,000 target so just another £77 to go. Bye for now, love Richard x

6 years agoOne down three to go! Finished the Sheffield Half Marathon today in 2 hours 29 minutes and 38 seconds. Needed to soak in a hot bath to help soothe the aching legs. Thank goodness I work from home as legs will be killing me for the next couple of days but well worth it as now raised 67% of the fundraising target. Thank you so much to everyone for your sponsorship and words of support. Love Richard x
