Inspired by her Christian faith, Polly has been helping homeless people in Banbury for over 30 years. Every evening come rain or shine Polly arrives outside St Mary's Church, Banbury, with a shopping trolley full of hot food, fruit, cake and bags of provisions for the following morning. And together with the food, Polly also gives people time to tell their stories and provides support and help whenever possible. She sees herself as a stepping stone on the way to a better life for people in their time of greatest need. Many people who come for a hot meal and a chat have problems with addictions, mental illness and are often ex-prisoners. Polly works on her own but is supported by local churches and individuals who donate food and money to sustain her amazing ministry. She likes to keep out of the spotlight and just get on with her daily work in God's service.
Elaine and I hope that the joy of our forthcoming wedding can help raise £1,000 to help Polly keep on showing God's healing love to many more people in need in Banbury.
