    Story

A Police Officer from Barnet is running 156 miles in six days across the Sahara Desert in the world famous "Marathon des Sables. This demanding and challenging run will be run to raise money to support the civillian victims of the Westminster Bridge Terrorist attack last week.

The Emergency Response Team officer PC Vincent-Jones will be running in temperatures that can reach 50 degrees centigrade in a distance equivalent of five and a half marathons while carrying his own food, water, cooking equipment and sleep system in what is described as an Ultramarathon.

He has been training for this event for 2 years including Heat Acclimatisation Training overseen by a doctor and two medical students monitoring his body to ensure it is ready for the extreme challenge ahead.

Team - Final preparations today - packing bag again and again, tweaking weights and checking kit. Spending to much time working out of my apple watch will work out in the Sahara so I'm taking a stock watch instead. I always manage to out run the watch. Massive Massive thanks to the support so far from everyone. The amount of donations coming through gives me more focus on the task ahead. Just this morning a £100 donation from the LoveWorkLife Team. Daily the donations have been poring in and all are in my thoughts every step of the way.
