    Story

Kibera is a slum in Nairobi, Kenya. It has an estimated population of over 500,000 with over 60% below the age of 35 years.
Most of Kibera slum residents live in extreme poverty, earning less than $1.00 per day. Unemployment rates are highest amongst the youth and crime rates are very high due to peer pressure and high levels of poverty.

A music talent centre would be a place of safety, security and the continuity of guidance and support where the young people of Kibera can sit, practice and tell their stories through dance and the recording of their music. This in turn would be a powerful way for them to showcase their talent to the rest of the world as well as create social cohesion therefore enabling much needed community growth and development.
