My name is Richard Markham and it is with great sadness that I am opening this fund raising page

On the night of Saturday 17th February my father in law, Sean Clancy of Thurles, Co. Tipperary, Ireland was taken to hospital suffering from shortness of breath, uncontrollable coughing and weakness. After arriving at the hospital, he suffered a cardiac arrest but was resuscitated, only to be put on a life support machine under heavy sedation.

Despite many attempts to remove the breathing tube he unfortunately wasn’t strong enough to breathe on his own due to the weakness of his heart.

A decision was finally made after a week to remove the breathing tube abd offer pallative care but 2 days later he passed away in Clonmel Hospital with his family at his bedside.

Sean had been a hard working family man all his life, living and providing for his Wife Mary and eight children. He had battled and defeated cancer twice but despite working hard all his life and Mary eventually having to take a job to help with bills and provide food, the family never had any spare finances at the end of the month. At the same time, as a proud man, he never asked for help.

The family are utterly devastated by the loss of their husband, father and grandfather and with little in the way of spare finances, I would like to do something to ease the burden of the funeral costs, which have left the family in financial difficulty
