Over the years, Richmond School has tried to support various charity events including taking part in the Race for Life in Darlington on a number of occasions in 2015, 2017 and 2023. March 2021 saw us undertake our March Miles challenge in memory of Mr Clark to start the process of refurbishing the school gym, whilst also supporting the Great North Air Ambulance.

Our latest challenge is to complete our own Race for Life on site, giving an opportunity for all of our students to take part where they can come together as one huge team.

As a part of National School Sports Week, we are going to ask students to complete either a 3km or 5km run during one of their lessons. Race for Life has always been a 5km walk/run but we want students to select a distance that they think is both manageable yet challenging to complete in their PE lesson.

We have asked our students to aim to try and raise approximately £5 each as sponsorship for undertaking the challenge. This would give us a huge amount as Team Richmond School which will be shared equally with Cancer Research and the equipment costs for some of the gym updates.
