Story
Hey there Guys & Gals,
As many of you will know, I was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in April/May 2017. There have been many delays and complications with my Treatment, but it looks like things are now slowly moving forward (fingers crossed).
Just before Christmas 2019 I underwent some rather intense Chemotherapy. Thankfully, despite it being very uncomfortable at times, it was not the type where I suffered any major hair-loss. As a result, although I prepared myself just in case, I've always wondered what I would look like with no hair. I appreciate that this thought may seem to strange to some, but it's something you think quite a bit when you're diagnosed with Cancer - no matter what the type. Strange I know!
Fast forward to the COVID-19 Lockdown 2020 and I, like so many others, are losing the battle with their crazy hair growth, simply due to Barbers being closed and a limited supply of friends that could cut it 'responsibly'.
So, this gave me the perfect excuse to have a bit of fun & raise some money for a local Cancer Charity. This particular Charity has been carefully chosen by me and I will be raising funds for their Grant Facility, which is something very similar to a facility I was fortunate enough to have access to when I was first diagnosed. Through a simple Application process, it allows Cancer Patients (especially newly diagnosed Cancer Patients) to request extra funds to help them adapt to their new way of life. The uses for the Grant money are pretty much endless, but are carefully considered by the Charity in question & are often life-changing.
Please Help Me Raise Money For This Worthy Cause
More details on my chosen Charity can be found by clicking here >> Worcester Cancer Support Group - Registered Charity No. 702417 - I have also requested that they join JustGiving in the future, to make it easier for people to raise money on their behalf. Many thanks for taking the time to read this. Warm Regards, Rick Hignett :-)
