Story

On the weekend of 17-18 September 2022 a group of family and friends are cycling from Burley in Wharfedale to Cambridge in memory of Will, our much loved brother, cousin and friend.

Tragically, Will died in early 2021 and we are coming together to celebrate Will's life in a way that he would have loved with his thirst for outdoor activity.

Will grew up in Cambridge and following his time at the University of Leeds he spent many years living and working in Yorkshire. He then lived in Cambridge once again for the last few years of his life.

We are joining these two important places in his life by cycling 180 miles over a weekend from Yorkshire to Cambridge to raise money for three very worthwhile causes:

CALM, a charity dedicated to preventing suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK.

Winston's Wish, the child bereavement charity who are helping his wonderful children and who provide specialist child bereavement support services across the UK.

St Andrews C of E School, Soham where he made a huge impact as an inspirational teacher. He has left a lasting legacy and the money we raise will help support this school.

We hope you can donate in Will's memory, and we’re hoping we can exceed our initial target! Anything you are able to give will be enormously appreciated.

Cycling was one of Will's greatest passions (the picture is of Will in his element, riding his beloved Orange 5 on Ilkley Moor) and he would have loved to have been joining us.

Thank you so much for your support.
