Story
Help us fund a life-changing wheelchair for a very special girl by joining us on a ride from Nottingham to Matlock on Saturday 30th August.
We’re taking a group ride and will be raising funds to help an incredible 11-year-old girl we know get the specialist equipment she needs to turn a donated powered wheelchair frame into a safe, comfortable and fully functioning chair – tailored specifically to her needs.
Thanks to her primary school PTA, some of the essential parts have already been purchased. But there are still more specialist components needed to make the chair suitable and safe for everyday use.
Due to strict NHS eligibility criteria, she doesn’t qualify for a powered wheelchair through the NHS – even though she absolutely needs one.
She’s starting secondary school this September. While she manages short distances in her manual wheelchair, she simply doesn’t have the strength to travel around a large school site all day, every day.
This powered wheelchair will give her what every young person deserves – independence, mobility, comfort and confidence. It will help her access school, social activities and her wider community safely and freely. For her, it’s not just equipment – it’s a life-changer. And she’s absolutely buzzing at the idea of the freedom it will bring.
So come on, join us on Saturday 30th August where our wondeful biker community can really show what we’re made Of!
Please support our cause and help get this most adorable girl the freedom she so desires.
