    Story

Check out Our Website for full details of our work.

Thank you so much for your continued support.

When Covid19 hit the UK, we all had to adapt to a new normal. We all had to find a way to come to terms with a 'different' way of life.

However, we became increasingly concerned for the already vulnerable people in society, those who were elderly, isolated, without friends or family nearby. Families already struggling to make ends meet, and people with pre-existing illnesses were particularly at risk. So began Risca CV19 Volunteers.

We are a team of 8 coordinators and now nearly 150 volunteers from the local area.

We posted 7000 kindness contact cards through every home.

Our volunteers give their precious time and local businesses have given their sponsorship and even community councils and committees agreed to support our work.

From delivering contact cards our services grew to include purchasing shopping, delivering prescriptions and even telephoning members of our community to provide reassurance, support and sometimes just companionship.

We soon realised that the services we were providing were, in many cases, desperately required even before Covid19 hit and will continue to be needed.

We continue to adapt to our communities requirements; our 'Tin on a Wall' campaign is making a huge difference to some of our local food banks. We collected enough donations of food in one day, to keep our food bank in Risca stocked for 6 months!

But none of this is possible without you and your donations. We now need to raise funds to carry on our good work. From office space to equipment; from personal grants to dedicated telephone lines. Your donations will help us continue to develop our services and continue to provide the essential support that our neighbours in our community so desperately need.

We plan to expand our services and expand the area we are able to cover, but need your help. Please continue to support us through our transition to a registered charity and beyond.

If you can spare some cash, even just a little, we can continue to develop our community group and continue to help those most in need.

Thank you so, so much for reading our story and for supporting our cause. xx
