Rising Phoenix kids Brazilian Jui Jitsui is a non-for-profit martial arts club based in Glenrothes. It has over 40 junior members with ages ranging from 4-12. The children learn BJJ techniques in a fun, safe environment and talk a lot about self defence, repsect, bullying and what to do if you are in an unsafe situation. The club has also won several community awards and helped produce multiple BJJ world champions!
The Club is in serious trouble and is in danger of closing it's doors for good. This would be absolutely devastating to the 40+ junior members. The Covid-19 pandemic put the club into financial uncertainty but it was just about ready to welcome back the junior members when disaster struck!
The notorious thunder and lightening storm which occurred in Fife on 11th August 2020 caused catastrophic damage to the club. The heavy rain made the roof collapse in several places and the flooding has destroyed almost every piece of flooring including the brand new crash mats which were laid on the hard floors. The insurance companies are continuing to dispute claims leaving the club in serious financial hardship. It will not be able to re-open again if funding is not found soon!
Any donation you can make would be greatly appreciated even if you do not want to enter the raffle.
