I am the daughter of a British war hero (Burma Railway). I am also a victim of horrific torture in America. This caused me to flee a property I had lived in for 40 years (1967-2007) and lose everything I own. I did make it to Europe but became homeless in hostels for a few weeks and then lived in temporary, shared accommodation for 2 years in the UK.
