Debt is one of the biggest killers in the UK. Suicide is considered by almost 50% of people struggling with debt in the UK and we do not want this happening to anyone – let alone someone we know. Sometimes debt can creep up on someone unexpectedly and beyond their control. This is the case for our friend… Rita.

Rita moved into a lovely house many years ago. One of the perks of living there was the underfloor heating that came with the house. Rita, not being one with the modern world and technology did not realise that when the underfloor heating batteries needed changing, the heating reset back to what we call ‘mental settings’. To the highest it could possibly go!

Before Rita knew it she had a heating bill in of just over £400.. this may not seem a lot to some people but we are nearing Christmas and this poor lady cannot afford any presents to give to loved ones, no lavish dinner, and is just making ends meat to help a little to pay off this huge bill.

Luckily enough and friend came to see her when she was heard crying next door. He came in and made sure her settings were correct so no more debt was being racked up.

All I am asking is If any of you have a spare £1, £2, £5 or even £10 to get this woman out of debt by Christmas. It literally broke my heart when I heard the crying. I would love to give this woman £400 before Christmas but we arent asking for the while lot - just a little helo so she does not have to live with such anxiety and stress.
