Half way through his university education in his home country, R. ran into some problems with the authorities because of his interest in Christianity. This resulted in him having to flee, leaving his family, friends and aspirations for the future behind. For two years, R. has dreamed of completing his studies to become an electrical engineer and give something back to the country which provided him with refuge. He had no English when he arrived, but since then has worked hard to get the necessary English qualifications for university here - an amazing achievement! He has an offer of a place at a British University from September 2018, and he will get a student loan, but he doesn't have the family behind him who can help with buying books, household necessities for his accommodation and a suitable laptop. You can help us change that - we'd like to raise £1,000 to buy a laptop, £500 towards the things he needs for his accommodation and £500 towards books. We are asking 100 people to consider giving £20, or if you'd find that a push, why not ask 4 of your freinds to chip in £5 each to give this young man the bright future he deserves?
