We are very proud to tell you that for the fifth year in a row Romney Marsh Pony Club Mounted Games team have won a place at the Horse Of The Year Show (HOYS) to compete for the Prince Phillip Cup, to be held on October 3rd-7th 2018 at the NEC in Birmingham.
The Quarters team won their ticket to Hoys at Zone’s on the 22ndJuly at Lutteworth. Their are only six places available to 250 Pony Clubs across the country, currently four of those spaces have been filled and the final two are up for grabs at the Pony Club Championships at the end of August.
Teams going so far are: Romney Marsh, Oakley Hunt, West Hants and Morpeth.
We have set this page up to help the girls and parents raise money to finance this trip, we are very proud of the success of our Mountain Games Team, to win a place at such a prestigious event, please support our team of girls to make our Pony Club Proud.
We now have weeks of practice, preparation and fundraising in order to ready to compete at HOYS in October.
A BIT ABOUT HOYS & THE TEAM
The Team, consisting of Morgan Ham (15), Chelsie Ledger (15), Jenny Edwards (15), Molly Gravells (14), Libby Cane (13), and Charlie Collings (12) Morgan, Chelsie and Jenny have all ridden at Hoys for Romney Marsh team before, new to the team this year was Molly and Libby with Charlie joining them as their 6thmember for HOYS. They have been competing together all year across the country at big events and shows and have shown such commitment with regular training sessions in all weathers throughout the year.
@HOYS – the girls will be competing twice per day, and will need to be smartly dressed at all times in true pony club style. Ponies, kids and parents will camp in the car park at the NEC Birmingham and will need to convert a temporary stable into a an immaculate tack room – which is then inspected and judged by members of the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, among others. The children and ponies will need to be dressed smartly in matching kit throughout the week, which is what a small part what our fundraising.
‘We understand that people are asking for money all the time for many worthwhile causes, but without the generosity of donations and sponsors from friends, family and local business’s, we would not be able to make this happen. We are very grateful to anyone who is able to help us – with time, money, equipment or skills!’
