Story
RNLI and the FOCCRS Youth Team SWIM/ROW
Living in Largs means we have the wonderful gift of living by the water. This fundraiser involves swimmers (parents and friends of youth rowers ), Youth rowers of the Firth of Clyde Rowing Club, and the local guardians of our coast the amazing Volunteers of the RNLI who enable us all to enjoy the water in safety. We plan to complete a coastal swim from The Green Shutter to Largs marina (2.5km approx) whilst the youths row a relay back and forth aiming to hit a target of 10km, on 21st May 2022 2pm-4pm.
The Firth Of Clyde Coastal Rowers is run by volunteers . For a £10 annual membership all youths are supported by trained and dedicated volunteers to enable young people to have fun, exercise, socialise, learn new skills and enjoy the experience of the open water in safety. This means the club is accessible to all young people of all abilities and backgrounds. The Youth Team will use any funds raised to contribute to kit and to support the young people to represent their club and Largs at the Skiffy World Championships in Holland in June 2022.
The RNLI is also run by local people who volunteer hours of training and being available at all hours of the day and night, to respond to any emergencies on the water. Ensuring they have skills, expertise and equipment is crucial and the funds raised will continue to ensure we have access to this fantastic team of dedicated people.

All funds raised will be split between these two community organisations.

Thankyou so much for your contribution.
