I've raised £2000 to provide showers and laundry service for up to 50 rough sleepers a week during the Covid-19 crisis.

there is currently a dire need for many local rough sleepers to access showers, laundry and clean clothing during the COVID-19 pandemic
Although a lot of amazing work has been done to house and feed hundreds of roughs sleepers since the outbreak, there are still between 150-200 rough sleepers still on the streets in our local area. In response to this, we are running a Crisis Hygiene Hub to meet the needs of up to 50 rough sleepers a week.
The Hub will operate as a referral only, appointment-based system in close collaboration with outreach teams and other voluntary partners. Due to the need for social distancing and other measures to protect against COVID-19 transmission, extra precautions are being taken and the project is being carefully risk assessed and reviewed.
We are also acutely aware of the need to facilitate access to sustainable accommodation for rough sleepers as quickly as possible. Therefore a key element of the project is to offer caseworker support and advice to enable clients to find a pathway off the streets during these difficult times.
The project is flexible and can be scaled up and down on a weekly basis according to how many appointments we get. With your support, we can double the number of showers we offer to support up to 100 clients a week. The donations will go towards the running costs of the project which includes a washing machine, dryer, 2 showers (one disabled), cleaning materials, PPE for volunteers, toiletries and clothing.
