Hi my name is Kevin Burgess.
I am a Masters Athlete approaching my 60th birthday (Feb 2017).
Over the last 20 years I have won 38 medals at World, European and British Masters championships. I also held an age group 60 metre European and British record. The latter stood for 14 years only being bettered earlier this year.

The last few years have been tough as I have had to overcome a series of physical problems which meant that for a period of about 9 years I was unable to train or compete to my maximum ability.

This year at the European Indoor Championship in Ancona , Italy I was 5th in the final of the M55 60 metres despite being the oldest in the race.
I recorded a time of 7.76 seconds which was my fastest time for 7 years.

If I am able to replicate that time next year when I am 60 it will equal a long standing British record. It will also give a real opportunity to win a medal at the next World Indoor Championship in Daegu. Masters athletes receive ABSOLUTELY NO funding. We have to pay entry fees, travel and accommodation from our own funds.

This is the first time I have had to ask for financial help this way and any donation however small will help me to make the trip and try to win the one medal that has so far eluded me and that is a World Individual Gold Medal.

If for any reason I am unable to travel to Korea I will seek to refund your donation or use it to go to the European Summer championship in Denmark.
