    Story

Reach Out and Recover (ROAR) C I C is a 24-hour staffed residential therapeutic support facility in Macclesfield for the treatment of drug addiction, mental health, depression, anxiety and trauma. The treatment staff provides intensive cognitive behavioral therapy sessions, neuro-linguistic therapy, group therapy, equine facilitated psychotherapy, time-line therapy. The treatment also provides life skills workshops, personal development and community integration which enables the recipient to become an upstanding member of the community upon completing treatment.

Those who access our service are shown compassion, given hope and a place where they can begin to believe in themselves. We empower people to take control of their lives and help them to develop practical skills whilst working in the community.

Those who follow our program are offered a pathway to a new life. From early stage 24 hour support, toward supported accommodation and finally, their own independent lives.

    WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP:

ROAR has a newly established equine psychotherapy centre in dire need of your help and support. The equine centre rescues abandoned, neglected, mistreated and abused horses and provides 7 day a week support back to health and vitality. ROAR does not just rely on food and nutrition to support the horses back to health, we are also centred on loving, caring and nurturing the mental/emotional health of the horses back to a calm and peaceful state.

HOWEVER!....we do not just stop there! The horses which have recovered are then used to in ROAR’s equine psychotherapy centre helping autistic, disabled or mentally ill children, prisoners on community integration programs, recovering drug addicts, those with mental health issues, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorders, childhood traumas and more.

95% of ROAR’s staff are unpaid volunteers. We survive merely on the kind generosity, love and support of our volunteers, community and donations. We are a not-for-profit charity with no guaranteed source of income.

We are in dire need of donations for the cost of stables, maintaining the horses, insurance, food, nutritious supplements, vaccinations, insect repellents, garments, collars, leashes, jackets, items to support the stable, land and grass vitamins to ensure the perfect equilibrium for the horses and much, much more. Your kind donation today will not only go towards a better life for the horses we rescue, but also the therapy of autistic/disabled children, people with mental health issues, recovering drug addicts and prisoner community reintegration programs.

Please call 01625 619106, or email: info@reachoutandrecover.org if you would like to discuss partnering or supporting us in some manner. If you wish to send any gifts, horse food, treats, supplements or garments, collars or such generous items, please mail to the following address:

    - “It is good to see the encouraging progress which continues to be made by ROAR, and the results which play an important role in transforming people’s lives. I would urge anyone who is keen to contribute to contact ROAR and find out how to help take forward this important work.” - Minister of Parliament, David Rutley.
