Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
For those who know Sam, you may already know & understand his situation. Pic isn't worst case.
Those who don’t Sam is 9, & suffers from severe atopic eczema.
Although at times, he might not look bad & not suffering, this simply isn’t the case! Same as other disabilities which aren’t always easily visible there is much more going on behind the scenes & that you know of.
Sam is a friendly Boy, who suffers all the time, but will happily join in with anyone. He is self concious about his skin, even though we repeatidly tell him that people understand and know why and what it is... But even though it does effect him more than people may think.
He is constantly scratching, all day & all night.. This interrupts his sleep, which in turns makes him tired during the day (luckily his teacher understands this, & is really good). Being tired in the evening times, does sometimes make him moody & easily irritated which obviously affects the whole family.
He suffers during how weather as sweat makes his skin sting, which in turns makes him scratch.
The doctors just keep telling (and trying to make us feel guilty) about not putting enough creams on him, but we know this doesn’t help as much as they say it will, but we know it hurts him as this also stings and often makes him cry when his skin is broken.
After doing a lot of research on the internet for alternative options, i found the Avene Centre in the South of France.
Who offer variety of water based treatments which promotes healthy skin and hopefully help break the scratching cycle for a good number of months, if not longer.
Meaning then that just the application of normal skin moisturisers is enough to keep his skin good and then he can at least sleep all night without scratching in his sleep...
They base treatment on either 6, 12 or 18 days. But obviously, the price is quite high once you factor in that he must accompanied by an adult & then we must stop somewhere on site and then price in food & travel it comes to around £2000 in total. We are looking at just a 6-day session of treatments.
The money raised will ALL go towards the cost of the treatment and travel costs in getting there. We will put as much as we can, but being so far short of the target ourselves, we had no choice but to ask for help, just for Sam's sake!
Thank you if you have, or even thinking about donating, it is very much appreicated! :o)

About the fundraiser
For those that know Sam, you already know he suffers from Severe Eczema which prevents him doing some things all the time, even a good nights sleep never happens due to scratching. This center is designed to help such conditions... Pic is shortly after a flair up
