Story

For the last 40 years ROM skatepark has been a goto spot for anyone who rides BMX; chances are anytime you visited over those 40 years you'd have bumped into Rob Steele either effortlessly manualling round the park, shouting 'encourgement' or sipping tea & chatting shit on the sidelines.

While Rob's spiritual home may be ROM, his reach goes far beyond this iconic skatepark; travelling the length and breadth of the country with his self-built company Radii Skatepark Repairs, Rob has created and fixed up countless parks.

I'm sure Thursday's news that there had been a serious fire at ROM came as a shock to everyone, but for Rob it has literally destroyed his livelihood. You see Radii Ramps was based at ROM and bore the brunt of the fire, which destroyed materials, tools, basically everything Rob needs to work.

To add to the loss, Rob had his irreplaceable BMX collection including his regular bike, car, motorbike and many other personal possessions stored in the lock-up, all of which went up in smoke.

While in any other walk of life this might mean ruin, this is BMX and in BMX we stick together. And so, this is your chance to help Rob and Radii rise from the ashes; please give whatever you can safe in the knowledge that as worthy causes go, they don't get much more worthy than Rob and Radii Skatepark Repairs.
