Story

Robbie has been riding about the farm in Zimbabwe on an old Quad Bike that breaks down endlessly, meaning he often has a very long and difficult walk home going at his speed thanks to his stroke. It also seems to be burning his legs - we assume when he comes off it - though Amanda says he doesn't seem to feel it.

For some time now, she and Robbie's aunt, Catherine Holme (Bobs) have been plotting to try to find him a side by side utility vehicle - preferably automatic because it would be so much easier for him than something with gears - for his 50th birthday. It would give him so much more independence.

Amanda had found a second hand one in Zim going very cheap, but she was beaten to it. Catherine has been looking in England but utility vehicles aren't much her thing and she can only find new ones which are expensive, and costly to ship with high import fees to Zimbabwe.

Solution: it is hoped that his and Amanda's friends can help to raise the £7,000 needed to buy a second hand Polaris Ranger in South Africa which can then be transported across the border to Zimbabwe. Any help to raise these funds would be so appreciated, giving Robbie a degree of independence that due to his stroke, has been seriously curtailed.
