Story
On Saturday night, Robbie Watts had a devastating and catastophic fire to his outbuildings and garages which housed his racing cars, tools and trophies, not to mention a vast amount of bespoke capentry tools and equipment that are essential to his everyday work. It‘s believed a faulty fridge started the fire. As you can see by the photos nothing could be saved, everying burned to the ground. His house or work insurance doesn’t cover any of this!
Robbie (RAW motorsports) has over 50 career wins in motorsport and of recent years has been a firm paddock favourite of F3 Cup and Monoposto. As you can imagine (and partly see from the photos) the tools and trophies in the garages are vast, not to mention the top quality cars themselves.
Self-employed Robbie (for the last 30 years or so) more importantly lost ALL of his tools and carpentry equipment in the fire. As a result he is unable to work or earn money at present to support his wife and 4 dependant children. This easily is the biggest blow to the family, as of course like all of us, they have a mortgage and bills that continue to go out.
No amount of money will bring these items back, thankfully nobody was hurt in the fire and there are many good memories to go alongside the trophies, also his previous working relations have put him in good stead with clients, but together could we help out? Could you help speed this recovery process?
If you know the lovely Watts family or just a fellow racing fan, a fellow carpenter or even a Dad or a son that can sympathise, what better way to show them of our support, that we are with them during this horrible stage of their lives, than donating some money, small or large, to help them try and rebuild some of what they had built up through a lifetimes work? It may only soften the blow but I‘m sure together we can make a huge difference
