Story

Robert Clack School is a comprehensive school based in Dagenham, East London. We are a large school of 1891 students who serve the local Barking and Dagenham community. Many of the students from within our school community come from a tough background and face daily challenges.

The Head Teacher, School Governors and School place a big emphasis on sport and the impact that it has for our students. This has allowed us to compete in regular Saturday morning rugby fixtures against a host of grammar and private schools, all of which we provide free of charge to our students.

To help encourage our to students to participate in rugby beyond their school careers, we are planning to run an ambitious rugby tour to South Africa in July 2019. We hope this once in a lifetime opportunity will broaden the students horizons and help them to grow as individuals.

Whilst in South Africa the students will get to coach school children from the townships close to Cape Town, visit Robben Island and of course play Rugby against peers from other cultures.

We are trying to raise £6000 to help support our plan of running this tour to South Africa. The money raised will go directly towards paying for the accommodation and equipment to use whilst in South Africa, in order to help keep the overall price of the tour at an accessible price for the parents/carers of our students.

We would really appreciate your support with helping us to reach our £6000 target to help get students from Barking and Dagenham to experience this once in a life time opportunity.
