I'm raising £500 to Donate to St Ronan’s Border Games & St Ronan’s Ex Standard Bearers by competing in this year’s Lee Pen Hill Race in my Fire Kit.

Story

As an Ex Standard Bearer and Retained Firefighter, I’ve always been passionate about serving my local community.

After recently turning 50 I decided to set myself with a wee challenge to not only complete the Lee Pen Hill Race but also do this dressed in my firefighting kit.

As some locals know, this is almost 5K long with an incline of 350m. The kit alone weighs a fair bit, not to mention the helmet so running in this will be no easy task-but I’m determined to do it for causes that mean a great deal to me and to the many others in our town. ( I should mention for health and safety reasons I am not allowed to wear my firefighting boots as trail running shoes must be worn ).

I am raising money for 2 organisations close to my heart and intend to split all monies raised equally between St Ronan’s Border Games and St Ronan’s Ex Standard Bearers Association where every penny raised will go directly back into our town, helping to keep our traditions alive and supporting community events that bring us all together.
