I'm raising £1000 to Support Port Talbot Lifeboat on Aberavon beach.

Organised by Robert Owen

Story

We are asking for your support to raise as much money as possible to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first launch of Port Talbot Lifeboat on Aberavon beach on the 21st of May 1966. Every donation large or small, whether via this page, along the route, or locally at the station will enable us to remain part of the community and be able to continue saving lives at sea along the local coastline for the next 60 years. In order to honour the special occasion two station members, Lifeboat Operations Manager - Clive Morris and retired Station Visits Officer - Bob.Owen (combined age134 years)!!!!!!!! are taking on a significant challenge,

leaving RNLI headquarters in Poole exactly 60 years to the day cycling 179 miles to Port Talbot lifeboat station. It's going to be a long ride over 2 and a bit days but the reward of being able to raise money for RNLI to assist our crew in their lifesaving duties is well worth the effort! With a dedicated support team assisting along the way we are determined to make this challenge a success.
