Story

My 100 mile cycle ride for good causes - the Velo Birmingham on 24th September.

I am President of the Rotary Club of Coventry and in this capacity I am trying to raise awareness and money for my chosen charities/not for profit community groups, during my year in office and thereafter.

I have personal experience of my three chosen charities in what they do and what they try to achieve. Friends and family who have lived with cancer and autism and experience of people who are isolated and alone who require much needed suport and guidance.

Each of these organisations requires assistance both finanically and in terms of awareness. If I can help by cycling 100 miles in the Velo Birmingham on 24th September it will be extremely worthwhile. Every pound will help. So please support me.

My chosen organisations are:

Grapevine; who help people experiencing isolation, poverty and disadvantage to build better lives.

CAFAG (Coventry Action for Autism Group); who are a support group run by parents for parents. CAFAG offers:

•A chance to meet other parents and look at issues and problems linked to Autism
•Information about help and support for Autistic children and their families
•Social activities for Autistic children and their families

The Hummingbird Centre

The Hummingbird Centre (Midlands) aims to provide support to people with a cancer diagnosis and those affected by cancer. A not-for-profit social enterprise providing:
•friendship and support
•information and advice
•complementary therapy sessions
•counselling and emotional support sessions
•training courses
•relaxation and meditation classes
