    Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This page has been created by Duncan (Roberts Husband) and Gemma (Their daughter) to help raise funds for Leeds Pride which is such a huge event and helps so many people within the LGBTQ+ community.

We have created this page in memory of Robert Payne AKA Drag with no Frock to raise money for Leeds Pride. Robert was a huge supporter of Leeds Pride. Robert and Duncan run Blayds Bar in Leeds.

Sadly, Robert passed away in December whilst on holiday due to an undiagnosed heart condition which essentially caused a heart attack. Robert was only 57 years old and was taken far too soon.

Robert was well known in the LGBTQ+ community as a proud business owner (Blayds Bar). Robert and Duncan have ran this bar for over 10 years and have been a big part of Leeds night life during those years. Loved by many! Both Robert and Duncan have done so much for the LGBTQ+ community and Leeds pride. They have hosted many events for Leeds pride and Duncan will continue to do so.

For those of you that knew Robert, I am sure you will have many fond memories of him partying away at any opportunity. He will be greatly missed by everyone. He was and always will be the life and soul of the party.

Robert was a huge supporter in Leeds Pride every year. We would like to help raise as much money as we can to an event that can be overlooked and seen as a party however it helps so many people. Leeds pride is an event that takes place every year in the lower part of Leeds city centre. We are asking everyone who knew Robert to donate if you can. This is something that was so important to Robert and is in turn just as important to Duncan and Gemma. Robert was such a huge personality and will be greatly missed. This would be a huge honour for him and would mean the world to him and his family. It is extremely sad that he will not be able to attend the event any more but hopefully if we can raise what we can in his memory then he will always be a part of such a brilliant event.

Unfortunately due to COVID, Leeds Pride has been cancelled the last couple of years, hopefully it will be going ahead this year. Duncan and the Blayds family would love to see you all raising a glass to Robert at the event! Leeds Pride was the ultimate party for Robert and we would like to keep it that way.

Roberts family would like to thank you in advance for any donation you can give.

Thank you everyone for your donations. We have managed to raise around £1500 in total when we include the donation boxes at Blayds. We will carry on raising as much as we can during pride weekend and will post an update on Facebook with the final amount after Pride!
