In October 2020 my family and I were devastated to find my brother had taken his own life. He was an Agricultural contractor all of his working life and with this came his love of tractors and anything with wheels. My brother’s second love was heavy metal, and he was a huge Motorhead fan.

My brother was a private man, he found it incredibly hard to talk about how he was feeling, his worries and emotions would be kept to himself. He knew we were always there for him, but he’d say “you just have to get on with it”. You don't, there is help and support all around you, family, friends or outside support, and this is where Pwrpas (along with many other support groups) can help.

Pwrpas, when translated means Purpose - we all need a Purpose in Life to be happy. Pwrpas are a local charity run by local people. Their aim is:

To raise awareness of the mental health challenges faced by men.

To engage with men and encourage conversations.

To signpost men to an appropriate network or organisation.

We hope, together, we can raise awareness that there is help, and support, and that those that need it can reach out for it.
