Story
On the 18th October a gas explosion in Chippenham resulted in a local 19 year old being admitted to hospital with life threatening injuries.
That 19 year old was Kyle Roe, a lovely lad who is a valued employee of Morrison’s Chippenham and brother to Kallum, Connor and Findlay. Kyle sustained 87% burns and has been under the care of Morriston Hospital specialist burns unit in Swansea, the South West’s major burns unit. Kyle has been in intensive care since his arrival and on life support receiving the best 24 hour care any of us could ask for, provided by the kindest nurses, surgeons and doctors who work tirelessly to ensure he is comfortable.
The hospital also put Kyle’s parents in touch with The League of Friends who are providing accommodation free of charge enabling his parents to be onsite and well rested at all times throughout Kyle’s recovery.
Anybody that is fortunate enough to know the Roe family will agree that they are one of the kindest and loving families around, who are well loved and supported by family and friends at all times. Selflessly whilst supporting Kyle through this extremely difficult time, Chris & Tracy have been thinking about others and asked me to lead this cause.
Kyle’s entire family want to give something back as a way of thanks for caring for Kyle but also to assist the hospital in providing continued best care to all future patients.
All funds raised will be given to the ICU Burns Unit, Tempest Ward, Morriston Hospital, Swansea.
We will also be arranging a number of fundraising events over the coming months so please keep an eye out and get involved if you can.
Finally, this was a tragic incident and on behalf of Kyles parents, we would like to raise as much support as possible to ensure we can Thank All Of Those Helping To Care For Kyle.
Thank you all for your support.
