Story
Meet Roddy.
Originally a Romanian shelter dog, Roddy had a home for two whole years but was returned to our care a little over 8 months ago. Despite such a life changing setback he's been working hard and has come on in leaps and bounds since then (often literally).
After Roddy's latest offer of a home fell through, ADRS were left with some tough choices to make. At the moment his training, exercise and socialisation needs are being met by by a team of volunteers who absolutely dote on him and take him for daily walks in and around Glasgow. With 20 of our dogs in foster, Roddy has been living in kennels for several months now and we are largely relying on financial support from the adoption fees of our other, more fortunate dogs. While none of us can face turning our backs on Roddy this leaves our resources hugely depleted and- now more than ever- there are so many rescue dogs in need of our support.
Roddy is a strong dog with big emotions, which has made him more difficult to home than some of our younger, smaller dogs. He loves wholeheartedly but the upheaval and disappointment of his early years has left him needing an understanding, patient yet confident hand.
Our hope is that, through this page, we can raise enough money to support Roddy while we continue his behaviour coaching and find him the forever home that we know is out there. He's young, healthy and has captured the hearts of so many- we know there has to be a better end to his story than a life lived forever in kennels.
*All donations raised will be donated to All Dog Rescue Scotland and used specifically for Roddy's care. Roddy's kennel costs are currently £300 per month, plus food.*
