Story

At the end of May I will be running the Edinburgh Marathon to help raise money towards Oliver's Neuroblastoma Appeal.

A friend of ours son, Oliver, has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 high risk Neuroblastoma on his 3rd birthday. He has now started his chemotherapy treatment which are his first steps towards being cancer free. Unfortunately Oliver was diagnosed after trials in the UK had finished and Immunology, which is a beneficial Neuroblastoma treatment is currently unavailable on the NHS.

Research suggests that it will give Oliver a better chance of the cancer not returning if he was able to access this after his initial treatment has been completed.

The only alternative is to try to get Oliver on a trial which is running in other countries in the world. It is difficult to put an estimate on the cost of the trial, as it depends on the trials that are available, but previous treatment have cost approximately £200,000.
