Story

My grandson is almost 4 years old (19th November). At the age of around 1 month old he was diagnosed with one of the worse strengths of Cystic Fibrosis. This is a terminal disease that affects the lungs and pancreas, creating sticky mucus in the lungs and no enzymes in the pancreas.

In such a short space of time, Roman has been in and out of hospital, the most recent lasting almost a month. The specialist told his parents that they worry about his future because the lung disease has developed far more quickly than they would have expected for a boy of his age.

Roman already has a food tube, which he is fed through every night with special milk and soon will be back into hospital on a regular basis, so will need a permanent line inserting under his arm so that he doesn't have to be sedated every time he goes back in to have his antibiotics etc.

I am to raise as much money as possible to start a fund so that as he grows older, his parents will be able to purchase a vibrating jacket that can help with his daily physiotherapy. These jackets costs thousands of pounds and would never be available on the NHS.

Any donations will help towards achieving this goal.....and when Roman no longer needs it, at least we can donate it to another child with the same illness.
