I've raised £1000 to fund a memorial plaque in The Memory Garden at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens for Jean Freeth (1935 - 2003) and Ron Freeth (1931 - 2017)

I've set up this JustGiving page to raise money towards a plaque that will reside near a recently created Memory Garden in the heart of the beautiful grounds at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. My parents were 'Brummies' through and through and having a permanent sign of their lives in the gardens means that anyone who wants to remember them can simply visit the gardens and sit by the water to reflect on their lives. The gardens are wonderful for children to visit and generally for a day out for all.
When Mom died the amount of flowers at her funeral were staggering. I was overwhelmed by them. I could not take them away nor could they be placed at her graveside as she was cremated.
I thought that for my Dad it would be better to ask people who wanted to be part of the process to instead donate an amount that they were comfortable with towards the Memorial Garden plaque fund which would mean that they would all be part of their continuing legacy. Of course, if you wish to send flowers that is fine too! Bostin'!
