Story

Welcome to my Hoopathon!

On April the 6th 2022, I will be hula-hooping for 10 hours solid, to raise funds for scared, and helpless animals in Ukraine. This current situation is heartbreaking, but I'll never forget the photos I've seen of people fleeing with cats and dogs in their arms. Pets that only a month ago, were in a warm safe home, with plenty of food, water and love.

Many pets have been left behind, or have lost their owners, or are fleeing across a terrifying warzone. Unlike humans, you can't explain to them what is happening. They are completely voiceless, vulnerable and dependant on us.

A few days ago I was with my youngest cat Kimchi, and she was showering me with kisses and head bonks and as she looked deep into my eyes with nothing but unconditional love, I just thought, how on earth would I kiss you goodbye and leave you? Or flee many miles, unable to keep you safe. I couldn't stop the floods of tears imagining both girls alone, scared and hungry, roaming the streets, looking for the life they just had, and the parents they just had. Thousands, if not tens of thousands of animals in Ukraine are experiencing this right now, from pets to zoo animals.

That why I'm hoping to raise over £3000 to divide between 3 charities and organisations. Details below. I previously did a 6-hr hoopathon and it was tough-going, but I'm ready to take on 10 hrs of solid hula-hooping (with witnesses) on April the 6th 2022 from 10am until 8pm.

Lockdown hasnt been kind to my fitness levels (eeek!) but I will be spurred on thinking of every single animal and pet that we will be helping- me and you, by hooping, donating, sharing and encouraging.

Thank you all so much in advance. I will keep posting updates on how its going, and also how much is going to which charity when all donations have been received. You will get full transparency including screenshots of final monies donated to these organisations. Love you all and can't thank you enough xxxxx

Blue Cross Emergency Ukraine Animal Rescue fund. Working with Ukraine partners in neighbouring countries to help the millions that are feeling with their pets

Humane Society International- Emergency Animal Rescue Fund- Ukraine. Working with partners in and around Ukraine to help those animals caught in the heart of warfare.

Network for Animals- Working with partners in and around Ukraine to help those animals caught in the heart of warfare. Also working with Polands Cat Shelter to create an emergency cat shelter. Cats are often seen as more independant, so there arent many shelters for them compared to dogs, so they are in dire need of more help to tend to displaced and fleeing cats.
