Hey guys, firstly a massive thank you for reading this status and then checking out the page and thinking about helping out my best mate / brother from another mother Rory!

A lot of you will already know the score, but for those of you that don't, here we go.

One night in November 2013, I will not go into detail. But the life of my best friend, Rory, who had been like a brother to me from the age of 3 changed forever. That night Rory nearly died, and has been left for ever brain damaged, to a point I am unsure if he even knows when I’m in the room speaking to him. Not only did Rory’s life change that night. But my life, along with all of our friends and his families lives changed forever.

Never had I felt so helpless in my life. There was my best friend laying in hospital, clinging on to life. Day in, day out, there was nothing I could do about it.

After a couple of weeks with not much sign of improvement, there was talk of treatments that may be able to help him. The only thing was, they cost a lot of money. And so do a lot of things that he needs to make his life better. So I, his friends and family, decided that we would do everything we could to try and raise as much money as possible the following year for his ongoing treatments.

I signed up to 9 events in 2014, ending with the 2014 Iron Man Wales. The events ranged from an off road coastal path marathon of 27 miles, a bike ride through the Preseli mountains of 112 miles, a bike ride from Cardiff to Tenby of 112 miles, etc, etc. You get the idea.

Still to this day, I can not thank all of the people who have donated, supported or been a part of organising some of the amazing events held for Rory over the past few years enough!!

The money raised by his friends and family has gone towards his treatments, care and a disability car. Which is used to bring him home to his family every single week.

So whats going on this year?

I am about to take part in my first ever Long Course Weekend in a couple of weeks in Tenby, to help raise some more money for my main man Rory! Which, for those of you who don't know. Is basically the Iron Man spread over 3 days.

Friday: 2.4 Mile Sea Swim

Saturday: 112 Mile Pembrokeshire Bike

Sunday: Marathon

Then in September I will be doing the Iron Man Wales for my 3rd time!

If we manage to raise the target £500 or over. I will do the Iron Man wearing a suit, just for a laugh. I'm not sure if they will let me do the swim wearing a suit, but even if they don't, I will do the full bike and marathon in one!

I did not plan this, but just thought of it now while writing this. As a way to try and help prompt people to be a little more generous when donating haha

I can see myself regretting this idea very quickly. But it's in writing now and if it helps Rory, then F#CK IT!! Haha
