Story

Dear all you lovely people,

On Saturday the 1st of September I will be hosting an event to fundraise for the two fantastic charities Bloody Good Period (based in the UK) and Working as Angels (based in Nepal). This fun event is an opportunity to consume quantities of cake (vegan options will be available) coffee and tea, & learn how to make a reusable sanitary pad that you can then take home.

This event is part of my VSO Action at Home, helping to raise awareness on a subject that we addressed during my 3-month voluntary work in Nepal (in one session working in partnership with Working as Angels). However, period poverty is still prevalent in the UK, and many women cannot afford the financial burden of menstrual products.

Both charities work tirelessly to provide free sanitary products and menstrual hygiene education for women, and improve the dignity of women young and old as they experience their period each month.

I've created this page for those that want to attend this event (and pay in advance), or can't attend but fancy putting a few quid towards the cause. Anything you can donate is extremely welcomed, but if you can't but want to raise awareness check out their pages below and see how you can get involved!

I’m asking for a minimum donation of £6 per person, which gets you tea, coffee, and cake, and the materials necessary for making a reusable sanitary pad. NOTE: ALL PROCEEDS GO TO THESE CHARITIES! 75% to Bloody Good Period, and 25% to Working as Angels.

Please feel free to invite friends, but I will need to know numbers in advance (contact on Facebook or twrosa25@hotmail.co.uk). Also, although this event has a focus on menstruation, anyone is welcome, and learning how to make reusable sanitary pads is a valuable skill that anyone can then share with others.
