Story

Why am I raising money?

I am raising funds to be able to attend the 25th World Scout Jamboree in August 2023; this is a world-wide event, which happens once every 4 years. I have been extremely fortunate to obtain a place on this international event. It will take place over a 3-week period and will be located in the SaeManGeum region of South Korea. Over 40 000 scouts will attend from all over the world. While at the Jamboree, I will have the opportunity to take part in initiatives focussed on global issues, learn about the sustainable world and experience the traditions and culture of South Korea. In order to attend the Jamboree, I need to raise £3695 to cover the cost of flights, accommodation, food, training activities and equipment.

The Challenge

I plan to RUN and CYCLE 550 MILES over the next six months. The distance from London, England to Seoul, South Korea is 5500 miles, meaning that every mile I complete during the challenge is equivalent to 10 miles of the journey.

Progress Update

I will update you at least once a month on my progress and let you know how far I have reached on my journey. I will keep a record of the mileage I have covered using my Garmin sports watch and I will also upload photos of my runs and cycles using Strava.

Thank you

Attending the World Scout Jamboree is the opportunity of a lifetime and I am extremely grateful for your support with the challenge ahead.
