The church is very old, the foundation of it dating from about 870, so I hope you agree it is a special building of great historical interest that should be kept going rather than letting it fall to disuse. It is in the centre of our village but does not have toilet or coffee making facilities. If we could raise something towards the cost of providing these (which will be a LOT more than we are asking), it will help us make it a centre for our community groups to use. We would like to change the pews for more comfortable stackable chairs, do some repairs, as well as leave it open more often for villagers and visitors. A number of villagers have already said that they would like to be able to go into the church and rest quietly and peacefully for a few moments - something very difficult to do in this technological, busy age. There are very few places in the village to do this so I hope you will support us in this endeavour.
