Story
My best mate Rosie is raising funds to support herself while rehabilitating from having a brain haemorrhage which caused a stroke, this happened while she was giving birth.
"One week ago I was labouring away in a birth pool at home progressing well, the baby was close, then I felt my left side go, I knew I'd had a stroke. I kept calm but I was also terrified".
Rosie was rushed to the hospital, put to sleep, then her beautiful son Beau was born via an emergency C section. Beau went straight to his dad Lee for skin to skin and have the colostrum Rosie had thankfully harvested while she went straight for a CT scan. The confirmed stroke has left Rosie with no mobility on her left side but she's hopeful with continued care she will get back to a new normal.
Rosie will need private physio, a comfortable profiling bed & night time care to support her through this, she has chosen to breastfeed Beau & so this support at night is crucial, as any boobing mum knows. All of this will help Rosie recover as quickly as possible & continue her life with husband Lee, her little boy Hector & baby Beau.
" I never thought my first week of maternity would need my own amazing brothers to latch my newborn to my breast while I'm sat on the loo but, that's what family are for, right?!"
"The last week has been traumatic, frightening & exhausting; this was the last thing I expected to happen during childbirth but I am determined to get better so I can give Hector piggy backs, teach my sons shoddy guitar and cuddle all my boys in a normal bed again!"
Rosie has been so incredibly brave, she is determined & has the mental strength to get through this, she could just use a little financial help to get there. If you could spare anything please, Rosie would be so grateful.
Thank you for reading.
Love Louise
P.s if you can help or know anyone who can help with the nighttime care, get in touch. It would involve positioning, changing nappies, supporting feeds, personal care & being empathetic! X
