Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
My Daughter Inka, tragically lost her best friend Rosie Mitchell when she died from Sudden Arrhythmia death While rowing on the Thames in Kingston in September 2016. The loss has been so great, and I've been inspired by Rosie's family who make sure that everyday, Rosie's life is a celebration of who she was and the gift she brought to all those she touched. I had expected Rosie to always be a part of our lives, but today that isn't the case and I want to take that inspiration and channel it into something good.
Rosie's Family have worked closely with the Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) a charity that helps prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research. Every year in the UK at least 600 young people like Rosie, die of undiagnosed heart conditions.
After attending 'Rosie's Auction, to remember Rosie and to raise funds for CRY' this month I felt inspired to do something to show my gratitude to Rosie and her family. I will be walking 100 miles across the South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne in the early part of November to raise money in Rosie's memory. I'm hoping to raise £1000 but that can be doubled or even trebled with your help, so please help.
The walk should take me 7 days, covering 14.5 miles a day.
