"Dawa Tamang and Gyaljen Sherpa are highly skilled guides with well over 200 treks to Base Camp between them. Their combined knowledge and experience in this region of the Himalayas is priceless. Without men (and women) like them it would be near impossible to survive the cold and altitude. They are the ones who ensure you make it home alive.

We are cutting out the greedy multi-national adventure companies who pay their in-country staff next to nothing; so all fees will go directly to local Nepalese businesses and people. This is the best way that you can support Nepal and her people as they continue to recover.

Whilst still bearing the scars of last year’s earthquake, families rebuilding lives, Girl's education is still ignored in Nepal, particularly in remote villages amongst poor and Dalit families. The major reasons for this are cultural beliefs, an education for girls is supposed unnecessary, the school environment, a lack of awareness, affordability, plus a lack of motivation in parents to promote girl's education. Some effort is being made by the government to address this issue but still many girls are not in school and most of them drop out of school by age of twelve.

If everyone I know, made even the small donation, equivalent to a pint of beer or a G&T, I’d reach my goal of £3,000.00 in no time at all.

With the help of our local community connection Dawa Tamang (also our trek guide) I plan to sponsor a female who greatly needs this education opportunity. £600 per year for 5 years (please find the link below for Class Room in the Clouds School)

The trek is self funded so ALL money raised will go to supporting her education, and any extra funds will be given direct to the school.
