Story

Rosie has decided to cut off her beautiful long hair to raise money for two special people she knows fighting cancer. She will also donate the hair which is long enough to be useful in making a wig.

Rosie has a special friend, Josh, who helped her smile when she was poorly. Josh still is poorly, he is about to undergo a complicated transplant as he battles the same diagnosis Rosie has for the third time. Rosie will give 50% of any sponsorship raised to him and his family this Christmas as they move down to London to start treatment. He was the first person to make Rosie smile in her treatment and she wants to do something to help. The other 50% of money she raises is to go to a cause nominated by her class teacher, Mr McGinn who is also fighting cancer. It will be our pleasure to send that cause a cheque from any money she is given.

Rosie lost her hair in treatment in 2014. Since then she has enjoyed growing it. We never expected her to suggest she cut it off but as will always be the case, our daughter surprises us and we are so proud of her plan. She has announced that she will have her hair cut and give it to make a wig for others. She said, 'Do you think people will give me money if I can do it?' Yes we do - please support her fundraising if you can - she really wants to give them £100 each. What an achievement that will be if she can!
