I've raised £500 to donate to Johnny's Happy Place.

On the 28th April 2019 I plan to run London Marathon (my first marathon!). Initially I signed up to challenge myself however it also seems like a great opportunity to try to raise some money and awareness for a good cause...
Johnny's Happy Place is a not for profit organisation local to my small hometown, Kettering. They are dedicated to supporting people who may be having a tough time with their mental health through providing drop in counselling sessions, art workshops, a community café and much more in a friendly environment where everyone is welcome. All of this is run by volunteers, so I am sure no matter how small your donation is they will benefit from it!
Suicide is the most common cause of death for men aged 20-49 years in England and Wales. Everyone has mental health; some days it might be better or worse than others but we all have it and JHP want to reduce the stigma surrounding this, and try to reduce this statistic.
Some information from Johnny’s Happy Place’s website:
Johnny’s Happy Place came about after the death of our beautiful friend, son and brother Johnny Mackay, in October 2014. We wanted to create something wonderful in Johnny’s memory which we hope will be a lasting legacy to the most unique, warm, funny, talented and compassionate person.
There are many people out there who, for one reason or another, through circumstance, are having a tough time. They might have anxiety issues, depression or just feel isolated. What we have done, with the help of some wonderful people, is created a beautiful community space / café within Keystone’s building. We are open to everyone! Just pop in!
All donations will be greatly appreciated no matter how big or small!
