As part of my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, I’ve set myself a new challenge that will put my cycling skills and stamina to the test. I’ll be carrying out a Coast to Coast cycle ride between the west and east coasts of northern England. I’d really appreciate it if any of you can show your support by sponsoring to do this.

Starting on the 15th of July, I’ll be riding along the famous C2C Way of the Roses route from Morecambe to Bridlington. I’ll be riding this 170-mile route with 42 other students from North Halifax Grammar School and we’ll be raising funds to buy equipment and resources for our school in the process. We’ll take four days to complete the route and finish on the 18th July.

We’ll be carrying our own gear and will be doing our own cooking so that we have the proper cycle touring experience. The aim is to be fully self-sufficient and build new skills. Fully loaded with cooking equipment and clothes, we aren’t expecting to find this an easy ride. We’ve been warned that we’ll need to show ‘determination, grit and resilience’ to succeed.

Each student has been set the additional challenge of raising £200 to help fund the trip and raise money for the school. Please can you help me reach my target by sponsoring me to take part in the event.
