In November 2017 a close friend of ours was diagnosed with stage 3 prostate cancer.

The cancer has spread to his lymph nodes and unfortunately specialists have given him 3 years to live.

Throughout this difficult time, his happy and positive outlook on life hasn't altered and he still puts others before himself.

Being self employed with no sickness insurance his illness has forced him to stop working and he receives little to no help from the state, despite having worked hard all his life.

He has managed to get treatment that works, having had a PSA count of over 600 in December and now it is down in the 30's. However, this treatment is not available on the NHS and costs £250 per time. To some this may not seem a lot but for someone now who has no income, it is the difference between suffering or quality of life.

Marny and I plan to do a 55 mile sponsored cycle in October (SOMETHING COMPLETELY NEW TO US) and we would love to raise money to help our dear friend.

We are not asking for the Earth but if you could spare a little change we would all be so grateful, you would be giving quality of life to someone who sadly has been given so little time at such a young age, despite having so many things he still wishes to do!
