Story

Yoga, the ancient Indian discipline, combines strength, flexibility and balance with mental and spiritual practices to train the body and mind simultaneously.

Since joining Heartspace Yoga Dundee just over a year ago, I have become healthier and happier, and I want to share this with others. Most of us live 'from the neck upwards' as I say, paying attention to our minds as if they were totally separate from our bodies. Human beings are not meant to sit on chairs for eight hours a day - our bodies want to be flexible, graceful, and strong. Through the practice of yoga, people can learn to experience what their bodies are truly capable of, and what their minds can feel like in those circumstances.

As a result, I have decided I want to 'go deeper' into my practice of Yoga, and bring my passion to others. I'm saving up all my annual leave and next year and taking it all in one go to spend a month in Germany to train as a Forrest Yoga teacher. It will cost a lot, and I'm hoping my many friends across the world will help as much as they can. I'm aiming to raise £1,500 out of the total £4,000 I will need to take the course.

I'd be extremely grateful for any help you can give me to fulfil my dream.
