The History of the Rossathon
The Rossathon began in 2022 to honour the life of Ross Keenan, a cherished father, son, brother, and friend, who tragically passed away by suicide. Each year, the event brings together friends, family, and supporters to celebrate Ross’s memory and raise awareness about mental health.
The fourth Rossathon will be held on what would have been Ross’s 38th birthday in February, with participants running one kilometre for each year of his life, symbolising each year he was, and should still be, with us.
The final stretch is a challenging 8-kilometre ascent up the Llanberis Path, climbing to Snowdon’s summit at 3,560 feet above sea level during the depths of winter. Here we will gather to honour Ross and, now, Elliot, along with all those lost too soon.
What began as a personal journey by Ross’s brother, Cameron Keenan, in 2022 has grown each year.

Rossathon 2026 Participants
This year, we honour Ross with a dedicated team undertaking the challenge:
Gabby, Ollie Church, Harry Forder, Will Parkin, Marcus Goss, Simon Smith, Alistair Pyle, Tom O'Sullivan, Jordan Letts, James Nixon, Cameron Keenan.
The Rossathon has become a movement, uniting people determined to prevent suicide and promote mental health awareness. It stands as a living tribute to Ross’s legacy, bringing hope and support to those who need it most.
All donations will go to The Jordan Legacy CIC which was established in memory of Jordan Phillip who took his own life on December 4th 2019, aged 34.
Research shows that most suicides are preventable and The Jordan Legacy's is to move towards a society that is willing and able to do all it can to prevent all preventable suicides through collaboration, education and awareness raising.
Please note: the event date may be subject to change due to weather conditions (e.g., heavy snow).
Date of the event is Saturday 14th Febuary 2026
