Story
On Saturday the 8th of September 2018 the Portree and Braes Community Trust are organising a sponsored walk from the northern to the southern point of the area in order to raise funds to improve facilities for walkers, cyclists and runners - young and old.
All funds raised will support the development of path networks in Portree and Braes and promote active living in the community. The trust have recently carried out major improvement works at the Lisigarry steps in Portree and are aiming to complete the final phase of this work this year. Any additional funds will go towards improving local signage and information for those looking to explore the area on foot or by bike.
The walk is a challenging 20 mile trek over mixed terrain, on and off road from the Storr, through the village of Portree and on to Braes before reaching Sligachan Hotel and a well-earned rest. Local resident Ross Cowie (Lucky2bhere) has taken on the challenge in aid of the trust and hopes that you will join him for a fun, active day out while raising funds to support an active local community.
