Story
Many people are doing a lot of charity work in order to raise money for a variety of different causes, and I wanted to get involved in as well.
NHS Cymru is something very close to home with Sally, my wife, being a nurse there. A month ago, Sally had actually contracted coronavirus but fortunately got through it ok and is now back in work with her colleagues.
Undoubtedly one of the biggest challenges the NHS has is the shortfall of PPE available to their staff. This is an ongoing issue especially if the virus returns stronger in a second wave.
As well as the massive amount of work and effort the Nurses are providing on a daily basis, they are actually putting themselves in danger in order to protect us. I just want to show my appreciation for what they have been doing and raise as much money as I can in order to protect them on the front line.
‘M.I.N.D Cymru’ is a mental health charity that does some amazing work, especially during this current pandemic. Mental Health has been a taboo subject for many years, its only recently that has been highlighted as an issue.
Whether it be stresses around work, stresses at home or just life in general, I believe everyone has in one way or another experienced the challenges associated with mental health. When you reflect back on your life, you’d probably highlight some real situations that we all have to deal with and causes such as M.I.N.D Cymru are invaluable for our wellbeing.
I’d like to recognise the hard work that both these charities are doing through very difficult times.
